01. The Challenge
After an unsuccessful stint running a music label, Daniel J. Lloyd moved back to his hometown of Wyandanch and realized the lack of minority-led initiatives on Long Island. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Daniel founded Minority Millennials Inc. as a nonprofit organization to connect with people of color living on Long Island. But without proper know-how to modern marketing and organizational structure, Daniel struggled to find ways to grow his small organization into one of substance due. Seeing that he lacked the strategy to connect his vision to reality, he sought help.

02. The Strategy
Marketing for nonprofits in remarkably different than for-profit companies. Blue Surge Marketing Agency successfully executed multiple actions on behalf of Minority Millennials to grow their organization from obscurity into a regional mainstay. For nearly two years, Blue Surge invested digital marketing knowledge, created far-reaching social campaigns, captured events, and wrote the copy that fueled their growth.

To help Minority Millennials Inc. get started on building linear relationships with their audience, we drafted their first-ever newsletter campaign.
Our team was also hired for our photography expertise. Minority Millennials Inc. commissioned us to capture powerful imagery of a number of their events to appeal to the emotional nature of their constituents and stakeholders.
Knowing that social media was a useful tool for engaging millennials, we created highly visually, Instagram-friendly content for their events. These events included: Let’s Talk About It: A Conversation About The Suffolk County Police Test and Pitch Night: Ideas Impacting Culture, which was hosted in part by LaunchPad Huntington. To combat the changes in the Instagram algorithm, we wisely created that complimented their feed posts.
03. The Results
The results of our multiple efforts and campaigns with Minority Millennials Inc. were astounding. We helped raise brand awareness of their grassroots operation to a point where they now can function as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization on Long Island.
